Schema recognition?

I found this twinning of quotes as epigraphs Gregory Boyd’s book, Escaping the Matrix: Setting Your Mind Free to Experience Real Life in Christ, and the parallelism between the two quotes goes quite a distance when you consider that, as Boyd notes, “the Greek word suschematizo, which is translated “pattern,” could in fact be translated as “schema” — or yes, even “matrix.”

I am interested in Boyd’s work since he writes about spiritual warfare in a far more grounded anthropological, and theologically more nuanced, way than many of his colleagues, in his book God at War: The Bible & Spiritual Conflict — and has also published a critique of the evangelical right for espousing a “kingdom of this world”.

Sura 49:8

Each side here is accusing the other of desecrating the scriptures.

It is not my place to preach, but the aya If two parties of believers take up arms the one against the other, make peace between them [Qur’an 49.8] does come to mind…
